It wouldn’t be a healthy Friday without Cinco Bala. This weeks top 5 lessons, hacks and quotes I’ve been pondering, applying and battling.
For those of you who are new, this is a concept I took from Tim Ferriss. (This is just focused on MLM and online marketing) If you don’t subscribe to his newsletter. You should do it.
Lesson in Online Marketing: Practice What You Preach – I’ve spent the last month testing one of our new funnels. The results have been outstanding.
It’s a long form sales letter that leads to an application with a phone close. Since it’s new-ish, I’ve been taking some of the calls.
After roughly 887 leads…
 We found a 4X++ return on ad spend (ROAS)
And ½ of the people who purchased, ended up joining our team.
Pretty cool, right?
Well, since I’ve been taking some of these calls myself, I’ve had the chance the speak with quite a few networkers and listen to their perspective on our competitors.
Now when I say competitors – in most cases I’m giving them a compliment by even calling them that. But there are a few guys and gals who truly are amazing at what they do that play in this sandbox.
But you know what I found both in the MLM “training” space and in other “training” industries?
90% of the trainers, content producers and “gurus” don’t actually practice what they preach.
Yea. ALL of the “trainers” who sell marketing systems to the MLM community besides a teeny handful don’t actually participate in MLM.
WHAT? Are you serious?
Yea.
The question becomes – Why would someone not drink their own kool-aid?
If their system is so good, why would they give up the MASSIVE residual benefit of MLM?
“So they can sell to anyone in any company” They say.
Wrong.
I can sell to anyone in any company and I still build my MLM. It’s all about having the right contracts in place.
Now, I can’t answer for all of them and some of them *might* (don’t know everything) have a valid reason but I think it’s a good question to ask…
Now for the few of you that do actually take their own medicine (you know who you are) I have MASSIVE respect for you and am excited to be running alongside you.
For those who are selling marketing systems to an industry that they don’t participate in…
I ask “Why?”
Here’s my point:
For those of you who want to sell info products or coaching someday…
Practice what you preach. Stay congruent. Stay honest.
 Lesson in Network Marketing: Create Unity – There’s one skill that rivals the ability to market in MLM. That is the ability to lead.
Without leadership, you’re barking up the wrong tree. Might as well just be a normal online marketer with no residual income.
See, if you recruit 1,000 people but can’t lead them, they’re going to quit.
And you’re back to square one.
So how do you retain people so you can lead?
1. Help them make a ton of money.
2. Help them believe they will make a ton of money someday.
3. Help them have so much fun they don’t care about 1 or 2.
If you can do one of the three, you’ll retain a lot.
Two of three, you’ll retain more.
Three of three, you’ll be rock solid.
But the FIRST rule of retention is to create unity in your team.
How? Don’t be a bonsai rep.

My Recent Soap Opera: Headset Drama – Since I’ve been on the phone a little bit lately, I decided to splurge (jokes) and buy myself a sweet headset and retire my corded beats headphones to their proper duty of Ashley’s worship music headbangers.
I started my quest with the Jabra 65 headset and loved it.
 Only to realize my ears were about to embed in my skull because they were built for a 3 year old…
So I bought this one…
 Only to find out that you need a corporate desk phone to make it work.
Awesome.
As a vocal nemesis of the corporate world, if I ever see a Cisco desk phone again, I think I’ll puke and throw it out the window.
So I had to buy this one…
Can’t tell the difference?
Yea, me either.
But THIS one…
THIS one is bluetooth. Very fancy.
So it works, and I’m loving life looking like a modern boiler room employee.
But that also means I have to return the skull crusher,
And the corporate slave headset.
Oh the struggle of Network Marketing…
