It wouldn’t be a healthy Friday without Cinco Bala. This weeks top 5 lessons, hacks and quotes I’ve been pondering, applying and battling.
For those of you who are new, this is a concept I took from Tim Ferriss. (This is just focused on MLM and online marketing) If you don’t subscribe to his newsletter. You should do it.
Lesson in Online Marketing: Follow Up – There’s 3 primary types of follow up.
Sequence, blast and personal.
A follow up sequence is a 3-10 part email, text or message sequence that takes the reader through a specific journey to accomplish a specific result in a specific period of time.
Sequences are used to get maximum results from a marketing asset – like a webinar, sales letter or lead magnet…
Or to excavate results from a list that you’ve been keeping warm.
Which leads to how you keep a list warm..
Blasts.
That’s what this “Cinco Bala” series is. It’s a weekly email I write to keep dialogue open between us so I can serve you no matter where you fall in the “Rebels” ecosystem.
It also allows me to bring special offers to your attention when the timing is right.
Lots of people make the mistake of not building a relationship with their readers if they don’t purchase something on the first swing. That’s a HUGE mistake.
It’s not only extremely shortsighted from a monetary perspective but it’s also selfish.
Your goal should be to serve people regardless if they’re a customer or not. Because people will naturally ascend to higher levels of service with you if they want more.
But the only way they want more is if you’ve already given to them.
Lastly, is personal follow ups.
These are reserved for people who have taken a high value action in your business such as commenting on a post, filling out an application, making an initial purchase etc.
This “initial” action will change depending on where you’re at in business but one thing is for sure…
You should know exactly who you should be personally following up with and staying in touch with them FOREVER (in a logical fashion) until they buy or die.
I’d estimate that 85% of our revenue generated with Rebels and 85% of our recruits into our MLM company are the direct result of some type of follow up.
Meaning the MAJORITY of people that have joined our team or purchased from us did NOT do it on the first encounter.
That means that this is generally the difference between those who are full time entrepreneurs and those who own a non-profit from the discomfort of their home.
Bottom line: I HIGHLY recommend starting a follow up “blast” cadence with your list. No matter how small.
Then be sure to have an email sequence (at minimum) after every “offer” you make.
And finally, keep track of ALL your high value prospects in a CRM like Salesforce or a spreadsheet and follow up with them until they buy or die. (Remember, do it logically).
