Lesson in Network Marketing: Lead Leaders – Do you want to build your business to 6-7 figures only to watch it crumble when you go on vacation?
Or do you want to build it once and get paid forever?
I can guess you answer…
When we’re first getting started, it’s natural to want to be the guy or girl recognized constantly on staged and be “The MAN” or “That GIRL.”
I know because that’s what I wanted.
I wanted to feel needed. I loved getting the phone calls, texts and messages all the time. I felt important.
You can predict what happened.
If I wanted any time off whatsoever, my team started to implode. At the best they stopped producing, at the worst they quit.
At first, yes your goal is to be a recruiting and sales rockstar. Your goal is to go full time ASAP.
But on your way there, start raising up leaders.
How do you do that early on?
At the most basic level – Teach people to find their own answers rather than actually answering them.
This can be a struggle because it’s almost always easier in the short term to just do it for them or just answer it now.
But I caution you, it will be harder in the long term.

Lesson in Online Marketing: Your Funnel Is Not That Important…
When reviewing people’s funnels, it’s interesting how much time and effort they put into the design and layout of their pages and how little time they spend on the stuff “IN” the funnel.
The funnel itself seems like it’s the most important. After all, it’s what people actually see and click on.
But nothing could be further from the truth.
The funnel IS important. Vitally important.
But compared to your OFFER,
Targeting,
And Copy,
Your funnel comes in dead last.
Sadly, building the funnel is my favorite part.
But when we’re building a new funnel, taking a theoretical 30 days…
2 days are spent on targeting.
5 days spent on offer creation.
15-20 days on the copy.
And 3-5 days on the funnel itself.
I know that’s no fun to hear. After all, the funnel is more fun and quite honestly, even for a copywriting geek like me…
Copy can be excruciating.
It can really suck sometimes.
But trust me.
Now don’t get confused…
A bad funnel can break your results. It can crush your conversions in half. Or double them.
But a bad offer…
Bad copy…
Bad targeting…
It won’t just cut them in half. It’ll take them to near zero.
Book I’m Reading: Built To Last – This is the exact topic I was referring to in the lesson on network marketing. I’ve just started this book and already recommend it.
I was fortunate enough to get brought up in this industry by some great leaders of leaders and this book encompasses their teachings very well.
A Sobering Quote: The “American Dream” is: Buying stuff you don’t need, With money you don’t have, To impress people you don’t like.
Upon honest and close inspection, most people would conclude that this defines them. Clearly this is not the answer. Don’t let this be you.
