It wouldn’t be a healthy Friday without Cinco Bala. This weeks top 5 lessons, hacks and quotes I’ve been pondering, applying and battling.
For those of you who are new, this is a concept I took from Tim Ferriss. (This is just focused on MLM and online marketing) If you don’t subscribe to his newsletter. You should do it.
Lesson in Online Marketing: Visualize Your Goals – THE month we started tracking our revenue on a white board in the office for everyone to see – we started hitting our revenue goals EVERY month.
Literally every month.
Before that, we “took what came to us” – which is not a bad mindset to have as it keeps us psycho-achiever types from crippling anxiety.
But to NOT have goals staring you in the face is a recipe for failure. There is a balance I will admit.
However, what we’ve found is that not having your “CASH IN THE BANK” goal in front of you is a HUGE mistake.
I implore you to get out a giant white board and draw a “progress bar” to fill in as you bring cash in this month.
Make it a stretch but reasonable. It has to be something you can hit without a direct intervention from the Almighty.
If you’ve been making $17 per month, don’t make the goal $5k. Make it $1,000. Then move up each month intelligently.
Since doing this, we’ve literally 10x’d our income and had entire previous years’ worth of income in a single month…
It’s worth it.
Lesson in Network Marketing: Start Before You’re Ready – I spoke with a great guy recently who had a legitimate “why”, the base level skills and a great personality for MLM.
He gave me a verbal confirmation that he was “in”.
But then he decided to not move forward. Not uncommon however he did share with me why he wasn’t getting started – because he wasn’t “mentally ready for when times got tough” and felt he needed to toughen himself up or “wait” until he was “ready”.
In past times, I would have gone into monster overcome objection mode but that’s not how I wanted this cookie to crumble. However I do want to pass this lesson on you to…
You are NEVER ready before you begin a journey. That INCLUDES micro journeys within the macro journey.
You begin and THEN figure it out along the way.
You don’t sit in your garage and wait until all the lights turn green before leaving for work do you?
So why are you trying to figure out all the variables before starting?
Ducks don’t get in a row.
Puzzle pieces do not fall into place.
UNLESS
You get the puzzle box lid and start searching for the pieces.
Meaning you have a vision and take action on it.
Then the pieces have a way of finding you…
