I remember the first time I heard “Your intentions we’re good, but Zach… your execution wasn’t there.”
It stung like a bumblebee in the pants.
Remember, most people are NOT cut out for entrepreneurship. Not at all.
Just because someone has a “business” (distributorship) DOES NOT mean they’re IN business.
… If no one is buying your stuff or joining your team,
You’re not in business, you’re in an expensive social club.
No one cares if you or I are in business.
No one cares if we have a great product.
No one cares about our company.
No one cares if you or I WANT to succeed.
The only thing that matters is that we DO succeed.
Your intentions DO NOT MATTER.
MY intentions DO NOT MATTER.
It’s our EXECUTION that matters.
Try not showing up to work for three weeks and telling your boss, “Well, I intended to show up, but I slept through my alarm for the past three weeks.”
Do you have a job anymore? Exactly.
Thankfully execution is preceded by intentions. So if you haven’t yet moved from intentions to putting productive items in your calendar, don’t dwell on it any longer, just get it done.
Until an actionable item is in the calendar, it is an intention and it’s getting you no closer to your goal.
Once they’re in the calendar, you begin executing and you begin the journey to real entrepreneurship.
Now it wouldn’t be a healthy Friday without Cinco Bala. This weeks top 5 lessons, hacks and quotes I’ve been pondering, applying and battling.
For those of you who are new, this is a concept I took from Tim Ferriss. (This is just focused on MLM and online marketing) If you don’t subscribe to his newsletter. You should do it.
Lesson in MLM:No one cares – No one cares about your comp plan. Especially if they’re not in MLM yet. You realize that almost everyone says that their comp plan is the best right? At this stage in the game, almost every comp plan has very strong points and a few weak points. Almost none of them totally suck. (except some matrix plans)
I nerd out on reading companies comp plans and I can tell you first hand that even the binarys I was told to burn at the stake actually have some strong points. Now I have my preferences, but it’s not accurate in almost any case to say you have the “best comp plan.” The word “best” implies you have a definition to measure it by. Meaning you CAN say “our comp plan pays you “better” than any other one for retail profit etc.
However, the real lesson here is not to measure the plans. The real lesson is that your prospect DOES NOT care if it’s better than the next one over. They care if YOU + THE PLAN can get them to their goals. Very few people actually care about the products. They care about the dream.
If someone paid you or I $1000 to pick up dog poop for 5 minutes, would you do it? Probably. Why? Because the result is HUGE for the time invested.
Prospects about the result MORE than the process…
Lesson in Facebook Ads:Engineers win – You don’t create a sales letter (ad), you build one. You stack proven components together until you piece together useful copy. A huge misconception about copywriting is that it’s an art form. In some ways it is, but in most ways, it’s not. It’s more of a propeller head, engineer-y thing.
How do you start writing good ads? Find good ads out there, save them and then copy them verbatim. Copy them 10-20 times, start to ingrain the language patterns into your own speech. This teaches you how to think persuasively.
You have the speech patterns + the formula. Those two things = A great piece.
A Tour: My office – Thought this would be fun 🙂
Book I’m Reading: White Rage – Truthfully, I haven’t started reading it yet. My dad is a huge advocate of breaking the racial divide that still exists today. I have many friends of different ethnicities and backgrounds. I can tell you first hand that the racial divide is still very prevalent in America today and it’s messed up.
Now, I think certain parts of the argument have gotten a little out of hand and the media is definitely NOT who to listen to about this subject.
Remember, the media’s goal is to make money. How do they do that? By being provocative, getting more eyeballs on their stuff so they can charge advertisers more money. The news IS NOT news. It is propaganda.
That being said, there are actual issues that need our attention with the racial unrest in this country, I’m hoping this book can help open my eyes further…
A Very Hard Choice:Not answering everyone – Recently, I’ve been inundated with requests to answer questions and coach people. Specifically generating leads. We’ve got some clients who are generating 1000+ leads per month AND enrolling 30+ personal reps every single month with our strategies…
So it’s working.
I started taking on coaching clients around Thanksgiving to help sheperd people through this process. Well, I’ve always been a believer in giving and giving and giving and you’ll receive in return. However, since the request have been so numerous from non coaching clients, I unfortunately just can’t keep up and still give MY business the attention it deserves WHILE providing sufficient value in my responses.
So I’ve been forced to stop answering in depth questions from non-coaching clients sadly. I knew this day would come and it’s not a horrible thing, it’s a growth thing. But it does hurt my heart that I can’t help everybody. But as Russell Brunson says, “Those who don’t pay, don’t pay attention.” And I 100% believe that. Those who invest get the best results.
So for those of you who I am not answering directly nowadays, know that I love you, I am sorry and I hope to have you apart of our inner circle when the time is right…
