The screams of the flailing marketer, the blind sales manager or delusional upline that pierce my ears everyday…
Remember almost everything you AND I do is completely useless.
That is until we take a good look at our lives and business and eliminate the 80% that is sucking up our time and giving us almost no results.
Don’t believe me?
Track your results.
Where did they come from? I bet you that almost all of your results came from one or two TYPES OF PEOPLE with a particular TYPE OF PRODUCT.
Your results didn’t come when you cold called 500 people, they came when you called ONE type of person.
Which is why one of THE FIRST things we do when we work with coaching clients is show them HOW to “rack the shotgun” #perrymarshall
That is, how do you make sure you’re only sharing your sales message, business opportunity and time with people who actually care.
So before you spend all day today making calls, writing new sales letters or doing things that don’t lead to much…
Figure out what does lead to much and just do that.
(P.S. – Your boss will hate you doing this. That’s because their head is in the sand. It’s also why you won’t have a job soon.)
Now it wouldn’t be a healthy Friday without Cinco Bala! – This week’s top 5 hacks, secrets, tricks and lessons I’ve accumulated.
Lesson in Facebook ads:Target like a pro – I get into this in a lot of depth in the Free Before Freedom course… The best way to target I’ve ever found is to find 30 specific interests within your niche. Target your ad to all 30 of them with a $5 – $10/day budget. Let em’ run for 2 days and kill all the losers.
After you get 100+ leads or sales, make a lookalike. Then run your winning ad to that.
This simple targeting strategy will allow you to smoke almost everyone. (Assuming your offer / copywriting doesn’t suck.)
Lesson in Network Marketing:Leave the luster on – There’s a weird tint in the MLM industry that borders on cult like behavior sometimes. Some people are so infatuated with their upline and product that honestly… I think they’re in a cult too.
There is some truth to showing public respect for your upline. What I mean is, if your downline saw you being “too comfortable” with your upline or push them into a pool at the resort as a form of “bonding” what kind of message does that send to your downline?
It sends one of lack of respect NOT one of “That is the dude that is going to teach me how to attain financial freedom.”
So, don’t be a weirdo with it but make sure your upline you’re promoting gets respect… especially in public.
Book I’m reading:80/20 Sales and Marketing – No surprise, huh? Perry Marshall is a LEGEND in direct response marketing and we got lucky enough to have him on the podcast in January. Perry built multiple 7 and 8 figure businesses and wrote THE #1 SELLING book on Google Adwords of ALL TIME. He’s also written an amazing book I’m about to dive into called “Evolution 2.0” which breaks the deadlock between darwinism and design. It’s Christian apologetics from an angle I’ve never experienced before.
If you’re a person of faith OR if you want to make a crapload of money… you NEED to be on the lookout for that interview to drop in early January.
Favorite music to write to: Writing a compelling sales letter, ad or email can take quite some time. I’ve found it takes me a few hours sometimes just to get into the mental zone where I can string sentences together that make sense and are compelling to read. Music helps.
My top picks are:
Fall Out Boy (Yea I’m still a kid)
Pentatonix (Christmas right now)
And yes, I play THE SAME SONG on repeat for hours. I’m kind of nuts like that. But it helps me focus and helps Ashley think about pushing me down the stairs…
